Credit cards
Igor
Hey Casey Elliott can you explain for what you’re looking for? Currently, the available amount in the credit card category is the amount available for payment. Just making sure I’m understanding what you’re asking for.

Igor, thanks for the question. I suppose I did not see that you have already worked this out. My only issue is I cannot seem to make the numbers match. Could you detail the method by which you calculate the amount available for payment so I can get my head wrapped around the numbers. Thanks.
Igor
Casey Elliott: Yes, when you first add your credit card account, your available amount for the payment starts off as $0. Then you buy groceries for $100. The $100 gets taken out of Groceries category and you'll see a positive +$100 in the credit card category under the Available column. Now you can make a $100 payment to your credit card. Do this by making a transfer from your checking to your credit card account. The $100 will go back down to $0.
Does that make sense?

Igor yes, of course, but what else goes into that pot. Lets say a bill hits from my checking but I have yet to cover it in my budget because I have not gotten paid yet. That cash bill should reduce the amount available to pay against the credit card because I have less hard cash. Does this occur in the calculation also?
Igor
Casey Elliott: The only other thing that goes into that pot is the extra amount you manually assign to that credit card category by clicking on it and assigning more than the default $0 to it.
In your example, the money is coming out of your checking account, so it doesn't effect how much money you have available in your credit card category. If your electricity bill comes in at $100, then you would add the transaction in Kualia as your Electricity category and select your checking account. If you don't have $100 available in your Electricity category to cover that spending, then you need to take money out of another category temporarily. You can take money out of your Grocery category OR you can take money out of your credit card category assuming there is a positive balance. Just know that if you take money out of your credit card category, you will have to remember to manually add it back once you get paid. That's why its better to take money out of a custom category.

Igor not sure what you are referring to. I try to leave justified reviews. If you two are doing things right and caring about your patrons, then I will let others know. I am older and you seem a bit younger, so let me offer the best advice I can. Care about others in all aspects of life. How you treat people will be what is remembered. You are both doing very well. Keep it up.
Igor
Casey Elliott: Oops! Someone said something similar in a review and I thought it was you. Anyway, good advice and I'm taking it 🙏
